Prologue:
A gray she-cat mewed fast “What are we gonna do! I don’t want her to live in lies!”
A brown tom mewed simply “Well, We can pretend we died, and live as loners.”
The she-cat whined “But we can’t just leave her alone!”
The tom answered “Well, We can ask Blackmoon to take care of her!”
The she-cat pouted “Okay then. I pretend to die first then you come back into camp tell everyone. You somehow pretend to die then we meet up at the four corners right?”
The tom nodded and the she-cat and tom padded back to Twilightclan…
Chapter One:
Twilightkit opened her bright green eyes and saw a Black she-cat watching her. The black she-mewed “Hello, Twilightkit I am Blackmoon! I’m so happy to see you awake!”
Twilightkit yawned and said “Hi Blackmoon!” Blackmoon giggled and looked at the entrance as a White tom stormed in the nursery. The white tom growled “What did you name her Blackmoon?”
Blackmoon stuttered “I named her -” Twilightkit cut her off “I’m Twilightkit!” she smiled. Blackmoon nodded. The white tom glared at Blackmoon “Twilightkit? Out of ALL the names you picked Twilightkit” He stormed back out of the Nursery. Blackmoon whispered to herself “Well sorry, Whitestar” and turned to Twilightkit “Okay sorry for tha -”
A golden she-cat padded into the Nursery and cut Blackmoon off “HI! I’m Goldenclaw the Medicine Cat of Twilightclan. Twilightclan is where you are now except you’re in the Nursery” Goldenclaw mewed quickly. Blackmoon frowned. Twilightkit giggled “Where are my parents?” Blackmoon mewed “Um, Goldenclaw, I’m gonna go do patrols now” and bolted out of the Nursery. Goldenclaw shook her head and mewed to Twilightkit “Your parents died a few moons after your mother had you” Twilightkit nodded and padded out of the Nursery. She looked around. Spottedpaw padded over to Twilightkit and said “HI!”
Twilightkit mewed back “Hi, I'm Twilightkit”
Spottedpaw yawned “I’m Spottedpaw! I’m an apprentice, so if you wanna play come to me please” and padded after Brownclaw. Twilightkit sighed thinking I wish I had someone to play with right now… and watched Blackmoon set up patrols. She pounced on a falling leaf and giggled.
Twilightkit continued to pounce on leafs when she saw the white tom from earlier padding over to her. She stopped and glared at him thinking Oh no, not that mean cat again and watched as the white tom stood right in front of her “What do you want” Twilightkit asked coldly.
“I wanna talk. I'm Whitestar the leader of Twilightclan”
Twilightkit nodded and mewed “Well what do you want!” her voice fierce for a kit.
Whitestar snickered “To show you something” and started padding out of camp. Twilightkit followed slowly thinking what is with this tom? Whitestar padded towards the four corners and looked around. Twilightkit frowned “Well what is it?” just as a Tall tan tom with emerald eyes and jet black paws and a scarred muzzle popped up from the bushes. The tom whispered “Yes?” Whitestar smiled “Twilightkit, This is Spidershadow a Lightningclan warrior. I have plans that only he and I know of. You are in these plans and you will not tell another soul or the Dark Forest will be your ending and not your rebirth. I know you’re a kit but you’re smart so listen wisely as I tell you everything…”
Chapter Two
Twilightkit smiled as Whitestar took her back to camp. She knew what the Dark Forest was planning and that if she told anyone she would be banned from the clan. She sighed and padded into the Nursery. Blackmoon followed Twilight and asked “Are you okay Twilightkit?” Twilightkit growled “I'm fine Stay out of my business” and ran into the Nursery. Blackmoon looked hurt, and padded slowly into the Warriors Den. Twilightkit looked around the Nursery and yawned; she curled up in a dark corner and fell asleep.
Whitestar grinned and padded into the Leaders Den; He fell asleep and awoke in the Dark Forest. He walked to Twilight and said “I did it Twilight.”
Twilight nodded “Good Job Whitestar. Tell her not to believe in the lies Starclan tells and we shall be ready to rise. What she believes in is going to either destroy us, or help us”
Whitestar nodded “Yes Twilight” and awoke.
Spidershadow padded slowly back to Lightningclan, he felt a little bad that he was betraying his clan, but shrugged it off. Once he padded back into camp, Lightningpelt padded up to him “Hey you want to go on a hunting patrol?” Spidershadow nodded and he and Lightningpelt padded out of camp. Lightningpelt scented a rabbit and got into the Hunters Crouch. Spidershadow watched. Lightningpelt pinned the rabbit down and nipped its neck. Spidershadow said “Go Job!” Lightningpelt nodded his mouth full of the rabbit’s fur; he spat it out and said “Wow. Rabbit got fur” They both laughed and padded back to camp, Lightningpelt with two rabbits, Spidershadow with three small mice.
Twilightkit woke up in a cold place; she shivered wondering where she was. A gray tom with piercing blue eyes appeared in front of her “Hello” his voice cold. Twilightkit turned around, her eyes huge as she sat in front of the gray tom “W-Who are you?” The tom laughed and answered “You don’t need to know right now. But if you come here every day I will help you become leader” Twilightkit nodded, her eyes brightening “Not now though” the tom laughed and Twilightkit awoke.
Chapter Three
Twilightkit looked around the Nursery thinking that was a strange dream… She shook her head and slowly got up. Twilightkit padded out of the Nursery and ran into Frostpaw. He glared at her and growled “Watch out where you’re going tiny kit” and stalked toward the entrance with Blackmoon waiting for him. Twilightkit said “Hi Blackmoon!” Blackmoon ignored her and her and Frostpaw padded out of camp. Twilightkit looked confused; she sighed and looked around camp. Spottedpaw padded over to her and said “Good Morning Twilightkit!”
Twilightkit giggled “Hi Spottedpaw! Can we play?”
Spottedpaw shook her head “I would love to, but…”
“SPOTTEDPAW GET OVER HERE, WE HAVE A BORDER PATROL TO DO” Brownclaw yelled
Spottedpaw winced “See you later Twilightkit” and ran to her mentor. Twilightkit sighed thinking everyone is SO busy! She grinned to herself, and snuck out of camp.
Ocean woke up and looked around, her fur was bristling and she wondered why. She stood up weakly and looked around her surroundings. Where am I? She thought and looked around. She shrugged, got up, and tested her paws, legs, tail and head. When she moved her back left paw, she winced in pain oh no she thought. She slowly stood up and groomed her dirty pelt. She started padding around looking for someone to fix her twisted paw.
Darkclaw licked Grayhearts head “It’s OKAY Grayheart”
Grayheart looked at Darkclaw “No its not! I don’t want her to live in lies. We are going back” she stood up.
Darkclaw shook his head “Not now. She is only three moons old. She wouldn’t remember you anyways”
Grayheart sighed “I'm sorry for the trouble” and sat back down
Darkclaw purred “it is fine. You’re just worrying too much, she will be fine, I promise”
Grayheart nodded “Your right, I just worry too much.” Then Darkclaw and Grayheart padded towards the Four Corners, their tails entwined.
Chapter Four
Twilightkit looked around the territory staring wide eyed she thought everything is HUGE! Twilightkit padded towards Heartclans border without realizing it. She wrinkled her nose as she stepped over Heartclans border Ewe! What’s that nasty smell? She started padding closer towards Heartclan. She looked around as the terrain changed, everything looks peaceful and she yawned, she padded towards a clump of lilies bored.
Bramblekit woke up and looked around Heartclan; he stood up and padded out of the Nursery. He thought what should I do today? His eyes brightened as he saw his sister Sandpaw pad out of camp with her mentor Goldenclaw. He smiled I'm gonna sneak out of camp! He followed Sandpaw quietly and secretly. Once out of camp he looked around happily, he hid in a bush as Sandpaw turned around. Sandpaw and Goldenclaw went to hunt. Bramblekit smiled thinking I have until sundown and padded towards a clump of lilies.
Twilightkit stopped and pricked her ears; she heard movement and looked around the lilies. She spotted a sturdy light brown tabby Tom with black stripes and grey paws and clear blue eyes. She sat down and tilted her head the side; she thought who is he? She flicked her tail and pounced on the kit.
Ocean paused and listened to her surroundings. She perked her ears hearing a snake slither close by, she froze and waited. A white tom with blazing gold eyes leapt onto the snake and killed it. The tom mewed “Brownclaw. I got it”
A brown tom with golden eyes appeared next to the white tom, he growled “Dumb Snake. I almost had it”
The white tom nodded “Oh well, we better take it back to camp so that Goldenclaw can take the venom out of it”
The brown tom smirked “Can’t wait to eat it” and the two toms padded off. Ocean gulped thinking T-They eat snakes?!?!
Bramblekit fell backwards “HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” he hissed to the tiny gray she-cat that just leapt onto him. He growled and the she-cat padded closer to him. “Hey, who are you?” the gray she-kit asked
“I'm Bramblekit. Now leave my territory!”
The tiny she-kit just giggled “I'm Twilightkit from um… uh…” she paused and began to think. Bramblekit groaned “Okay you’re either from; Lightningclan, Heartclan, or Twilightclan got it”
Twilightkit smiled at the clan Twilightclan “Yeah. I'm from Twilightclan”
Bramblekit groaned “Are you serious? Well if I were you I would leave and go back. No one likes Twilightclan, first because they eat snakes…”
Twilightkit growled “Just because we EAT snakes?!?!?” she took a step towards Bramblekit, her eyes blazing with anger. Bramblekit stuttered “It’s not my fault” he backed up and tripped over a lily. Twilightkit giggled and said “Sorry…”
Bramblekit smiled “it is fine. But you better get going or someone from Heartclan will see you”
Twilightkit nodded “Bye Bramblekit!” and padded back to Twilightclan.
Whitestar padded back to camp with two snakes and a rabbit, he dropped them on the Fresh Kill Pile and padded into the Nursery. He looked around for Twilightkit and not seeing her, he growled low. He padded out of the Nursery and to Frostpaw who was at the Fresh Kill Pile. “Frostpaw, have you seen Twilightkit today?”
Frostpaw nodded “Yep” he replied coldly “She was here earlier. And then I went out to train” and he padded into the apprentices den. Whitestar growled and leapt onto the meeting place, he howled “Every cat come here for a meeting!” Everyone padded underneath Whitestar rock. “Twilightkit isn’t in camp. I want Brownclaw, Goldenclaw and Spottedpaw to come with me now” he said. Everyone nodded and Brownclaw, Goldenclaw, and Spottedpaw padded towards Whitestar.
Chapter Five
Twilightkit padded back to Twilightclans border, she looked around just as a patrol came, and she slid into a fox burrow, her scent engulfed by the fox stench. She held her nose and listened.
Whitestar looked around “Where is she!” Twilightkit stifled a small laugh and realized he was talking about her.
Goldenclaw shrugged “Maybe she went exploring. Just like someone I knew when he was a kit” and looked at Whitestar.
Whitestar growled “Well. She needs to be IN camp anyway. We haven’t gotten rid of those foxes yet”
Brownclaw rolled his eyes “Okay. Well I scented her near Heartclans border…”
Spottedpaw whined “Heartclan? Oh no! They’re going to poison her with their love!” and fell backwards laughing.
Whitestar waited until Spottedpaw stopped laughing “Okay. So she went towards Heartclan. Okay. So Goldenclaw will come with me, and you two can look for her in Twilightclans border, understand?” Goldenclaw, Spottedpaw, and Brownclaw nodded.
Bramblekit sighed and began padding back to Heartclan, he scented for his sister and her mentor near the entrance. He padded into Heartclan and snuck into the Nursery hoping no one noticed him gone. He curled up and drifted slowly off to sleep wondering what Twilightkits problem was…
-A Few Moons Later-
Twilightkit woke up and ran out of the Nursery and into Whitestar, she smiled and asked “Can I go to the gathering tonight?”
Whitestar rolled his eyes and replied “No”
Twilightkit whined “PLEASE!”
Blackmoon padded towards them and said “The warrior code says kits aren’t allowed to got to gatherings”
Whitestar glared at Blackmoon “Warrior Code is phony. We don’t have kits go because it is not safe for them”
Twilightkit looked at Whitestar and Blackmoon “What’s the warrior code?”
Blackmoon replied “The warrior code it something Whitestar hates”
Whitestar turned towards Blackmoon and growled “Don’t you have a JOB to do?”
Twilightkit blinked and mewed quickly “It is fine. I don’t care anymore” and ran back into the Nursery, she smiled thinking Maybe I can see the tom I met yesterday! Then she drifted slowly off to sleep.
Ocean padded out of her hiding spot, and shuddered. She followed the two toms scent hoping they had something to help her where they lived. She padded towards Twilightclan and stopped thinking do I really want to visit people who eat snakes? She shuddered again and hid into one of the bushes nearby; she curled up and thought maybe tomorrow. Then she quickly fell asleep.
Twilightkit woke up and bolted out of the Nursery, she saw the cats about to go the Four Corners for a gathering, and she smiled and yelled “Bye!” and waited until the cats where all busy. She snuck quietly out of camp and towards Heartclans border. Once at Heartclans border, she looked around carefully, and padded quietly towards Heartclans camp to find Bramblekit.
Whitestar flicked his tail for his group to follow, he leapt over the rushing water that surrounded the Four Corners and waited for his clan mates. He had brought: Spottedpaw, Blackmoon, Goldenclaw, and Brownclaw. Once the others caught up, he leapt onto the jagged rock where the other leaders sat. He was always the first to arrive, and spotted Goldstar and his clan, and to the left came Moonstar with her cats, Last like always came Blackstar. Whitestar waited patiently for the other leaders to come up. He yowled to the cats that the meeting was about the start. Goldstar growled “We have scented a Twilightclan cat across out border! And for all we know they might have been stealing prey while its Leaf-bare”
Twilightkit crept into Heartclan unnoticed by anyone, she looked around the camp and followed Bramblekits scent from her hiding spot, she crept closer to the scent still making sure no one saw her. Twilightkit padded into the Nursery and looked around quietly. She smiled as she spotted light brown tuff of fur; she giggled quietly and pounced on Bramblekit.
Bramblekit jolted awake and looked around the Nursery scared, and all of a sudden heard a giggle. He tilted his head confused and spotted Twilightkit. He rolled his eyes and mewed quietly “What are you doing here? We will be in HUGE trouble if anyone finds out!”
Chapter 6
All of a sudden, cats started yowling accusations at each other angrily. Whitestar growled at Goldstar for a second and turned back to the other cats, he yowled louder than normal “SHUSH! We didn’t go on your territory Goldstar. It might have been Twilightkit because she can never settle and she is the only kit in our clan”
Goldstar grunted “Whatever. We only have one kit and he does just fine by himself, so I think that we need a new leader of Twilightclan if he can’t take care of his own cats...” and he lunged at Whitestar. Whitestar dodged Goldstar and snickered “Oh Mighty leader of Heartclan. I know this is your last life, don’t waste it on a fight”
Goldstar froze and said calmly “How did you find out” his voice cold.
Whitestar laughed scaring most of the cats at the gathering “Well. It’s obvious; this is the first gathering you have been to in moons! Also as you climbed up the rock, I saw two of your cats HELP you up” he snorted.
Goldstar growled, and Moonstar flicked her tail at the two toms “Blackstar and I don’t have time to speak mouse brains” Blackstar nodded slowly. Whitestar rolled his eyes “Then start”
Twilightkit whined softly “But I’m BORED at Twilightclan. There’s no one my age and all the apprentices are training, the warriors on duties and such”
Bramblekit yawned “And I'm tired. I didn’t get much sleep after you came to Heartclans border a few moons ago. Wait. How did you even get into Heartclan?”
Twilightkit shrugged “Everyone’s at the gathering”
Bramblekit sighed “I can’t believer this” he said as they snuck out of Heartclan. Twilight smiled “It’s FINE, and if we get caught it was my idea okay! Just stop being so serious. Plus haven’t you ever wondered what a gathering looked like?”
Bramblekit shrugged “I guess. I don’t have TIME for it”
Twilightkit shook her head “All we ever do is Play, Sleep, and Eat what do you mean you don’t have TIME for it”!”
Bramblekit shrugged “I’m Busy”
Moonstar started “Prey has been running well. We have to new kits. Sweetkit and Shrewkit. Their mother Goldenheart!” she waited for the howls to die down. Moonstar stepped back. Blackstar spoke “Like Moonstar, Prey is running well and we to have some new kits. Dawnkit and Waterkit!” he stepped back and Goldstar stepped up. Goldstar glared at Whitestar before speaking “Congrats to 6$tarclan and Lightningclan for their fortune. Prey has been running well, and there has been no problems” he stepped back.
Ocean woke up her decision made. She padded into Twilightclan slowly, her heart racing. Ocean looked around seeing only a few cats. She limped up to Frostpaw and said “Um. Do you know anyone that can fix my paw?”
Frostpaw stared at Ocean “Yep” he pointed with his tail towards the Medicine Cat Den. Ocean nodded and limped towards the Medicine Cats Den.
Twilightkit bounced towards the border to Twilightclan “Come on slow poke!” she stepped over the border and smiled. Bramblekit finally caught up to Twilightkit “Your. To. Fast” he huffed. Twilight smiled brighter “Come on silly” she crept away from Bramblekit and towards her clan. Bramblekit followed her “So why do we have to go to Twilightclan again?” he whispered
Twilightkit answered “Because, you should see it. Then the other two clans”
Bramblekit frowned “You just said we are going to Twilightclan! We won’t have anytime!”
Spidershadow listened to the gathering, he saw Whitestar mouth something that said ‘Come back to the Four Corners and sundown’ Spidershadow gave me a small nod. Whitestar smiled and started speaking “Prey has running well too. Twilightkit has been in Heartclan territory. But we punished her by holding her four moons from apprenticeship.” Goldstar grunted, Whitestar shot a glare at Goldstar. “But other than that, nothing has happened” Spidershadow listened and thought, he didn’t say anything about the foxes! The leaders ended the gathering.
Bramblekit looked around Twilightkit “Wow. So spooky” he said, he shuttered as they talked in Twilightclans nursery. Twilightkit shrugged “Its awesome here! And the snakes are so good!”
Bramblekit frowned “You said you weren’t going to speak about them!’’
Twilightkit shrugged “I didn’t promise” she giggled, then frowned “You should leave so we don’t get caught”
Bramblekit nodded “Okay. Bye Twilightkit” he crept out of Twilightclan and followed his stale scent towards Heartclan.
